DECHEMA runs the “Innovation Hub” of the International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Center (ISC3, www.isc3.org). As core activity of the Innovation Hub we are currently establishing a “Global Start-up Service – GSS” aiming at the support of sustainable chemistry entrepreneurs on a global level.

In order to strengthen our GSS activities and to support our team we are looking for a dedicated and engaged individual as

Innovation Manager Sustainable Chemistry (m/f/d)

The position is offered full time, but is initially restricted to a 2 year period.

YOUR JOB TASK:

• Coordinate the screening for new start-ups and recruitment for the start-up pool
• Advise and support chemistry related startups and our network partners working with startups, with focus on the journey towards more sustainability
• Evaluate the sustainability of chemical innovations, startups and their business concept and accompany the on-boarding of startups into our GSS 
• Observe technological trends in terms of sustainable chemistry innovations
• Support team members in international activities, fact-finding missions etc.
• Support GSS activities incl. events and materials for start-ups

YOUR PROFILE:

• A strong background in chemistry at master or PhD level
• Preferably in-depth knowledge and experience in green and sustainable chemistry
• Experience in the management of international collaborations, projects and networks, facilitation of innovation processes, business support.
• Fluency in English and German
• Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity to deal with individuals from all over the world
• Autonomous as well as team-oriented working mode
• Team leading skills
• High motivation to travel incl. intercontinental trips
• Very good skills in MS Office, use of social media and communication tools
