Passionate about compact cars – POGEA RACING enhances the look and performance of the Abarth 595 SERIES 4 to create the athletic HERCULES

One thing unites all car owners who find their way to POGEA RACING. No matter if you drive a high-performance sports car or a compact car, if you take your vehicle to the Friedrichshafen tuning company you’re after individuality and emotionality. Maybe you want to unleash latent engine power or add some corners and edges to the bodywork which has fallen victim to mainstream tastes. Tweaks which the southern German specialist manufacturer knows all about. The latest example is the comprehensive HERCULES tuning programme for the Fiat Abarth 595. Whether modifications to the bodywork, sports chassis, custom forged wheels, powerful performance enhancements or exhaust systems that roar – all POGEA designs are made to show off the passion you have for your automobile.

Custom looks from the get-go

The differences between the athletic HERCULES Widebody kit and the typical stock look are immediately apparent. The tuning company has made numerous modifications to achieve this result: They’ve extended the front and rear wings, replaced the sills with their own designs as well as installing new side panels and trim for the rear and front skirt. Additional optional air intakes for the bonnet complete the aerodynamic revamp. All of these body components are made exclusively from the ultra-light carbon fibre. Customers have the choice between standard/prepainted or elegant clear-coated carbon fibre. In addition to the visible carbon textures offered in standard twill, customers can also choose between custom fabrics including "Forged-Carbon", "Honeycomb" and "Camouflage". With twill fabrics, the symmetry of the fibre structure can be perfectly preserved when positioning the tools and can thus be used as a design element.

Unbridled power delivery thanks to our own test bench

Though the compact car which has grown into the HERCULES not only looks powerful. If desired, the southern German tuning pros can free the Abarth 595 from its restrained stock 165 hp or 180 hp and dial up the engine output in stages up to 220 hp. For this modification POGEA replaces standard components with a MONSTERexhaust flap-controlled exhaust system and installs a 200 cell downpipe with optional thermo-integral insulation. This insulation significantly reduces the temperature in the engine compartment and, in combination with the engine management system programmed on the chassis dynamometer, is largely responsible for the lush increase in power. With torque of a limited 350Nm at 3600 rpm, the Italian powered by the 1.4 T-Jet now blazes from zero to one hundred in 6.2 seconds, putting a satisfied smile on the face of both pilot and passengers.

Choose from six rim designs

The recommended suspension and wheel/tyre combinations are individually matched to the widened body and the increased engine power: The POGEA Label V1 coilover suspension by KW consists of four fully adjustable sports shocks teamed up with four progressively wound sports springs. This puts the vehicle’s centre of gravity up to 45 millimetres lower than the stock model, thus specifically complementing the Abarth’s sporty drive character.

The perfect wheel and tyre combination is provided by ultra-light 8.0 x 18" forged wheels with 215/35 ZR18 tyres supplied by partner Michelin.  Choose from the rim designs "BLADE", "ORBI5", "EDISON", "QM", "XCUT" and "WILHELM".
