Flottweg’s Nozzle Separator Impresses: New Product Awarded German Innovation Award

Flottweg is delighted to receive the German Innovation Award: "The work of our interdisciplinary project team from Development, Process Engineering, and Production has paid off—with the nozzle separator, we’ve won over not only customers but now also an expert jury. In addition to the German Innovation Award, Flottweg also received the Innovator of the Year award for the nozzle separator.

Customer Focus Reimagined

The concept of a nozzle separator was viewed by many experts to be fully exhausted, and that’s when a lot of customers reached out to Flottweg. The separation technology specialist acknowledged the customers’ concerns and fundamentally questioned the existing design principles. The aim of the development process was to rethink the nozzle separator from scratch to meet customer requirements, while developing a sustainable, high-performance, and highly efficient separation unit. After all, as a key technology used in the food and biotechnology industry, having low operating and maintenance costs, low resource consumption, and of course an optimal separation result are very important.

"The heart of the nozzle separator is the bowl, which, thanks to its highly innovative design, combines a multitude of benefits. This is also crucial for energy savings and efficiency," explains Senior Product Manager Matthias Gaube, who played a key role in the development of the nozzle separator. “In addition to our customers‘ requirements, it was our expertise from over 50 years of experience in the field of separation technology that significantly influenced the design of the FDS2000.”
