European buyers in the food industry Gather at 2025 Korean Food Fair Frankfurt B2B

South Korea’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs(MAFRA) and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) successfully hosted the K-Food Fair Frankfurt 2025 B2B at the Frankfurt Marriott Hotel on June 24th, drawing significant attention from the European food industry. The event brought together 30 Korean agri-food exporters and 86 buyers from 17 European countries, facilitating active business exchanges and reaffirming the rising appeal of K-Food in the European market.

Over two days, a total of 442 one-on-one trade meetings and briefings on European trend in Food industries were conducted, generating an estimated USD 63 million in potential trade opportunities. Among the most popular categories were Korean kimchi, snacks, drinks and HMR products such as Gimbap, Tteokbokki. which received particularly strong interest from European buyers. The fair also led to 18 on-site contracts and MOUs, amounting to USD 4 million, demonstrating the growing commercial viability of Korean food in Europe.

A series of side events further enriched the program and provided valuable insights for market entry. The Consumer K-Food Testing allowed Korean companies to gather direct feedback from local European consumers, helping them better tailor their products for the regional market. A seminar on European food trends introduced current preferences in ingredients and product formats, offering practical guidance for Korean food brands aiming to succeed in Europe.

In addition, a roundtable discussion with European K-Food distributors offered a platform for open dialogue, where buyers shared their perspectives, challenges, and opportunities related to K-Food distribution. This exchange of ideas contributed to strengthening mutual understanding and exploring future paths for collaboration.

The successful inaugural K-Food Fair held in Frankfurt is anticipated to serve as a significant platform for enhancing the presence of Korean agricultural and food products not only in Germany but throughout the wider European market.

Meanwhile, aT is set to operate a Korea Pavilion at the upcoming international food exhibition in Cologne(Anuga 2025), scheduled to take place from October 4 to 8. The pavilion will feature over 70 booths showcasing a diverse range of Korean products, including traditional Korean sauces, Ginseng, Kimchi, and Fresh fruits.
