IAV Develops Charging Management for DHL Fleet
Swarm IQ charging management system enables intelligent charging in the cloud
With Swarm IQ, IAV has established a cloud-based platform that seamlessly covers all fleet management requirements for electric vehicles. The solution ensures connectivity, efficient control, and monitoring of all charging points, enables predictive management of power peaks, and integrates renewable energies. This minimizes downtime, makes fleet operation transparent, and sustainably reduces energy costs.
“With our intelligent charging and load management platform, we support the electrification of Europe’s largest fleet reliably and with IT security – today, tomorrow, and for growing requirements. This innovation is a blueprint for sustainable mobility on a large industrial scale,” says Carsten Rinka, Chief Sales Officer at IAV GmbH.
Customizable charging and load management system for individual requirements
Another feature of IAV technology is its flexibility: whether vehicle-based or OCPP-based charging, the solution adapts flexibly to individual infrastructure and fleet requirements. The user interface is intuitive, and there is the option of integrating stationary energy storage systems, heat pumps, and photovoltaic systems. Real-time data enables clear control and enables a cost-effective increase in electrification rates within an organization.
“Our solution offers maximum reliability in fleet operation and meets the latest IT standards. It is therefore future-proof and can be flexibly adapted to individual customer requirements,” explains Michael Gröschel, Head of Digital Solutions for Mobility, at IAV.
Solution now also available to other customers
With Swarm IQ Charge & Load, which is being used successfully on a large scale at DHL, IAV and Streetscooter are creating a pioneering platform, making the benefits of sustainable mobility available to logistics and fleet companies in all industries.
"With over 35,000 electric vehicles, we have a significant need for an intelligent, stable charging and load management system that is deeply integrated into our operations. Our new in-house solution helps us reduce energy costs, accelerate electrification, and ensure operational stability," says Thomas Schlickenrieder, Senior Vice President Infrastructure Operations of the P&P division.
The charging and load management system developed jointly with DHL is now also available to third-party customers through a partnership with StreetScooter. Swarm IQ Charge & Load builds on this strategic constellation of expertise to deliver a future-proven, field-tested solution for efficiently operating electrified fleets at large scales. “We’re thrilled to have reached a milestone in the evolution of our charging control system with this successful rollout. Building on more than 15 years of experience in e-mobility, we’re now able to offer this innovative solution to third-party customers,” says Rainer Wode, Chief Operating Officer of StreetScooter GmbH.
