Ferentino Tyre: A New Identity for Marangoni Industrial Tyres, Built on 60 Years of Experience
Hall 9 / Booth 9A37
After a long career in the industrial tyre sector, Lorenzo Stringari is now leading the transition of a historic brand toward a new identity. Ferentino Tyre S.r.l. is the new name of the company formerly known as Marangoni Industrial Tyres, as it prepares to strengthen its presence in Europe with a clear and ambitious strategy. We met with Stringari to understand what is changing—and what remains—of the long industrial tradition that has accompanied the brand for more than half a century.
Ferentino is a new name, but with deep roots. What does this transition represent?
Ferentino is our new brand, but it is not a fresh start. It is the result of an industrial history that is now evolving into Ferentino. We decided to change the name to mark a new phase—more international and more focused. The website still carries the Marangoni Industrial Tyres name, but it will soon be updated. The product, however, will continue to be sold under the Marangoni brand until the end of the year. From 2026 onwards, it will be exclusively Ferentino.
What does the company’s current production and logistics structure look like?
The Ferentino Group operates two manufacturing plants in Sri Lanka, a country that has become a true global hub for industrial tyres. We produce solid tyres for forklifts, excavators, telehandlers, skid steers and aerial work platforms—a sector we know very well and in which we had already specialised during the Marangoni years, and even earlier with Pirelli. The factories also manufacture products that are distributed exclusively in the American and Asian markets: passenger car tyres—the same ones once produced in Anagni—as well as motorcycle and truck tyres.
And in Europe, where are you present?
We have just inaugurated a new 6,000-square-metre facility in Trento, dedicated to the assembly of industrial tyres on rims. It is a modern plant, designed to serve the European market with speed and flexibility. In addition to Trento, we have subsidiaries and direct distribution warehouses in Bremen, Germany, and in Lamotte-Warfuseé and Lorient, France. This allows us to ensure comprehensive coverage of Europe’s key markets.
The product is already well known in the industry. What are your strengths?
We are present in original equipment on brands such as Toyota, Jungheinrich and Atlas, to name just a few. This confirms the quality and reliability of our products, which are widely recognised by the market. Our know-how has been built over more than 60 years of activity, and today we carry it forward with a new identity but the same technical expertise.
Looking ahead, what are your priorities?
To consolidate the Ferentino brand in Europe, strengthen the distribution network, and continue investing in quality and service. Our goal is to become a benchmark in the industrial tyre sector, with a solid and reliable offering tailored to the specific needs of our customers.
