The Imaging Source Announces Series Production of Visus IP67 GigE Industrial Cameras
Following the introduction of the first prototypes earlier this year, the Visus IP67 Series is now available in regular production. Developed for OEMs, system integrators, and machine builders, the camera platform combines IP67 protection with a compact 43 × 43 × 34.5 mm housing, providing greater flexibility when integrating machine vision systems into space-constrained industrial equipment.
Compact IP67 Cameras for Industrial Vision
The Visus IP67 Series supports a wide range of industrial imaging applications, including robotics, factory automation, warehouse logistics, food processing, agriculture, and automotive manufacturing. Typical imaging tasks include barcode and QR code reading, robot guidance, pick-and-place systems, package inspection, defect detection, and assembly verification.
The cameras combine modern sensor technology with industrial-grade connectivity and are available with:
- Sony and onsemi global and rolling shutter sensors from 3.1 MP to 20 MP
- M12 X-coded GigE with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE)
- M8 A-coded connector for I/O and auxiliary power
- 1× Trigger IN and 2× GPOUT
- Compact 43 × 43 × 34.5 mm housing
- IP6K6 and IP6K7 ingress protection
Designed for Efficient System Integration
The Visus IP67 platform was developed with a focus on reducing integration effort and overall system cost. A coordinated ecosystem of compatible accessories includes IP67-rated data and I/O cables, IP67 lens tubes, and S-Mount (M12) lenses, allowing machine builders and system integrators to configure a complete protected imaging solution from a single source.
By combining compact mechanics, current-generation sensors, industrial connectivity, and a coordinated accessory ecosystem, the Visus IP67 Series provides a modern, cost-effective platform for GigE machine vision systems where compact dimensions, rugged construction, and reliable imaging are critical.
“For me, Visus IP67 represents what industrial vision should be: robust enough for the real world, compact enough to fit where it is needed, and powerful enough to capture what matters. We designed this camera family around the challenges our customers face every day — because reliable imaging shouldn’t stop where the environment gets tough,” said Momchil Binev, Senior Product Manager at The Imaging Source.
The Visus IP67 Series is now in regular series production and available from The Imaging Source and its authorized distribution partners.
Founded in 1988, The Imaging Source develops and manufactures high-performance industrial cameras and embedded vision components engineered for use in factory automation, quality control, medical imaging, scientific research, and security systems.
