New ExoDiscovery® / ExoDisc® System from LabSpinner
Cells secrete extracellular vesicles (EVs) for intercellular communication, and mammalian EVs are known to mediate physiological and pathological functions throughout the body by transporting biomolecules from one cell location, tissue or organ to another. Present in all tissues and body fluids EVs carry a variety of different molecules including RNAs, proteins, and lipids.
Because quick and reproducible methods are often required in basic and clinical research, the gentle isolation conditions (low centrifugal force: < 500 xg) and patented “Tangential Flow Filtration” technology make the ExoDiscovery® / ExoDisc® the ideal system for precision science and research applications. The obtained high yields of high purity intact EVs allow application of further sensitive downstream analyses (e.g. NTA, SEM, TEM, Western Blotting, ELISA, DNA/RNA prep for qPCR, or sequencing).
EVs are of particular interest both for academic and clinical researchers as they play an important role in promoting or restraining various processes associated with the immune response, cancer development and progression, viral pathogenicity, pregnancy, cardiovascular diseases, and diseases of the central nervous system, making them promising targets also for new therapeutic agents.
