The Imaging Source Introduces a New Full-Range Optics Portfolio for Machine Vision

The Imaging Source, international manufacturer of machine vision cameras and industrial imaging software, announces its newly restructured machine vision optics portfolio. The updated offering provides a broad selection of lenses that align closely with its industrial and embedded products for a wide range of machine vision applications, including demanding, high-precision use cases.

Introducing clearly defined Pro and Ultra performance tiers across both C-mount and S-mount (M12) lenses, the restructured portfolio enables system designers and integrators to select optics that are precisely matched to their application requirements. The tiered approach spans cost-efficient solutions for standard imaging tasks as well as lenses designed for demanding, high-precision machine vision applications.

In the C-mount range, C-Pro lenses deliver best-value performance and broad coverage across The Imaging Source’s camera range, while C-Ultra lenses, engineered in Japan, address applications requiring the highest optical precision. The S-mount portfolio follows the same logic, with S-Pro lenses optimized for compact, cost-efficient designs and S-Ultra lenses offering best-in-class image quality in space-constrained systems.

“Over time, our optics offering had grown organically and no longer reflected the level of clarity and competitiveness our customers expect,” said Momchil Binev, Product Manager at The Imaging Source. “By restructuring the portfolio into clearly defined performance tiers and aligning it tightly with our cameras, customers can now move efficiently from initial prototypes to series production with optics that are well matched to their application’s performance requirements.”

Beyond portfolio simplification, the relaunch also addresses common pain points in system integration. All lenses are supported by complete technical documentation, including full specifications, mechanical drawings, and 3D models, reducing engineering effort during design and validation. Improved coverage across The Imaging Source’s camera portfolio further minimizes trial-and-error during lens selection.

The optics relaunch is part of The Imaging Source’s broader One Partner. One Solution. Complete Confidence. strategy, which focuses on delivering a consistent, production-ready imaging ecosystem spanning cameras, optics, cables, and software.
