RA Consulting software already supports OBFCM
OBFCM ensures vehicles comply with legal limits at type approval and under real-world driving conditions throughout their entire lifecycle. Current versions of DiagRA® D and Silver Scan-Tool™ provide OEMs, suppliers, and development service providers with a future-proof diagnostic and validation platform for implementing these requirements.
Peter Stoß, Director of Automotive Products at RA Consulting, explains: “The biggest challenge for us was incorporating all the required parameters and standards in accordance with SAE J1979 (OBD Classic), SAE J1979-2 (OBD on UDS), SAE J1979-3 (ZEV on UDS), SAE J1939 (HD OBD), and ISO 27145 (WWH OBD) in a legally compliant manner, as well as ensuring the validation and plausibility of the data.” Drawing on our more than 25 years of experience developing diagnostic products, we successfully met this challenge twelve months before the Euro 7 standard took effect. For our customers, this translated into enormous time and cost savings for their own processes.”
Scalable data acquisition for development and validation
With the introduction of OBM, the amount of diagnostic and monitoring data available in the vehicle increases significantly. In addition to the legally required measurement data, DiagRA® D allows you to acquire and analyze a nearly unlimited number of additional manufacturer-specific parameters. Due to the early implementation of OBFCM functions, development and validation teams can analyze complex system interactions more efficiently, shorten iteration cycles, and gain greater insight into vehicle behavior under real-world operating conditions. Additionally, diagnostic and test environments can be expanded and configured promptly to meet upcoming regulatory requirements.RA Consulting’s exceptionally timely implementation of OBM in accordance with Euro 7 once again underscores its high level of technological expertise in automotive diagnostics, vehicle communication, and software solutions for modern E/E architectures.
OBM-ecosystem for data management
The introduction of the Euro 7 standard, which takes effect on November 29, 2026, for type approval of new passenger car models and one year later for all new registrations, places the highest demands on OEMs and public authorities in terms of compliance, data security, and technological expertise.
In collaboration with renowned partners, the German software specialist is developing cutting-edge OBM diagnostics and cloud solutions. These forward-looking processes enable the processing of OBD data within a complex OBM ecosystem featuring user-centered data management. Interfaces connect the diagnostic infrastructure directly to external partners, including OEMs, service providers, repair shops, and regulatory agencies. The system includes applications, open APIs, and administrative interfaces that enable secure, role-based access to diagnostic data and services. These include predictive maintenance, compliance with emissions regulations, fleet condition monitoring, and comprehensive data analysis.
