RA Consulting is a partner in the new public transportation project, BRAVE10k
AI-based data and simulation solutions
The German software company RA Consulting is focusing on developing data-driven methods for generating realistic test and operational scenarios. Various methods are used to combine large language models (LLMs) with real vehicle, infrastructure, and operational data to derive consistent scenarios for the virtual validation of autonomous driving functions.
“In the BRAVE10k project, we are collaborating with our partners to establish a foundation for efficiently validating and optimizing autonomous mobility systems virtually and data-driven through generating and standardizing ODD descriptions,” explains Dr. Frank Hantschel, RA Consulting’s project manager. “In addition to generating ODD descriptions based on standards such as ASAM OpenODD, we will support the exchange and standardized management of sensor, development, and validation data within the project. We will also combine this data with our measurement and calibration tool, DiagRA® X, and the latest components from the R&D sector. The specific design of the solution architecture will be developed over the course of the three-year research project in close coordination and open dialogue with the consortium partners,” Hantschel continues.
The results are intended to form the basis for the development of a digital twin in the future. The digital twin will consolidate vehicle, infrastructure, operational, and environmental data into an integrated simulation environment. It will also enable the virtual evaluation of traffic flows, operational strategies, and safety-related scenarios for autonomous vehicles in public transportation.
BRAVE10k is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) and managed by the project management organization TÜV Rheinland Research and Innovation Management. In addition to INIT and RA Consulting, other partners from the Karlsruhe Mobility Competence Center (KAMO) are participating in the project, including the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), the FZI Research Center for Information Technology, the Fraunhofer IOSB, the Karlsruhe Transport Association (KVV), Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe GmbH, e-mobil BW GmbH, and the Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion. A distinctive feature of the project, however, is the nationwide distribution and networking of the partners, particularly those from the public transportation sector.
