Videojet ICE showcases the latest coding, labelling and GS1 Digital Link-ready solutions at PPMA 2026

Videojet ICE, a global leader in coding, marking and printing solutions, will present the new Videojet 1880 C continuous inkjet printer and Videojet 9310 label applicator at PPMA 2026, giving UK manufacturers an early opportunity to see the latest coding, marking and labelling technologies in operation.

Taking place from 22 to 24 September at the NEC Birmingham, PPMA 2026 brings together technology and expertise from across the UK processing and packaging industry. On stand D72, Videojet ICE will demonstrate solutions designed to help manufacturers improve productivity, reduce unplanned downtime and simplify day-to-day operations.

The two new systems address common production challenges by combining advanced automation and intuitive operation, helping manufacturers achieve reliable performance while reducing operator intervention.

Simplifying pigmented ink printing

The Videojet 1880 C continuous inkjet printer is engineered to make pigmented ink printing easier to manage while delivering bold, high-contrast codes on dark, coloured and difficult-to-mark substrates. Advanced ink management and automated recovery capabilities help reduce maintenance and operator intervention while supporting more predictable operation. Integrated connectivity and long-life consumables further support uptime and efficient day-to-day use.

Key features of the Videojet 1880 C include:

  • High-contrast coding on dark, coloured and difficult-to-mark substrates
  • Ink management technology designed to reduce pigment build-up and maintenance requirements
  • Automatic recovery following extended production shutdowns
  • Long-life consumables and integrated Wi-Fi connectivity to support uptime and connected service

A new approach to label application

Also making its UK exhibition debut, the Videojet 9310 label applicator is designed to simplify the application of pre-printed pressure-sensitive labels while supporting reliable, consistent labelling performance. Powered by Videojet Intelligent Motion™ technology, the system digitally manages label handling and positioning to help reduce manual adjustments and mechanical intervention. A simplified label path, intuitive user interface and flexible integration options help make setup, operation and training straightforward.

Key features of the Videojet 9310 include:

  • Reliable, consistent label application
  • Videojet Intelligent Motion™ technology for automated label handling and positioning
  • Reduced manual adjustments and operator intervention
  • Simplified operation through an intuitive touchscreen interface and streamlined label path
  • Flexible mounting and connectivity options for production integration

Supporting manufacturers through GS1 Sunrise 2027

Visitors can see the ICE Zodiac Hawk thermal transfer overprinter (TTO) on the Videojet stand at PPMA. The system is part of the Videojet ICE portfolio of TTO solutions, an established product range now approved by GS1 for printing QR codes powered by GS1 Digital Link, supporting manufacturers as they prepare for evolving traceability requirements and 2D code initiatives.

As a GS1 Partner, Videojet helps brands and retailers prepare for GS1 Sunrise 2027 and the adoption of 2D codes for point-of-sale applications. Visitors can learn about coding, marking, validation and verification considerations across the packaging line and draw on Videojet expertise to explore implementation approaches and best practices. Dave Wilson, Global Technical Manager, Traceability, will be available to discuss GS1 standards and 2D code implementation.

Experience the latest Videojet technology at PPMA

In addition to the new product launches, visitors can explore solutions spanning continuous inkjet, thermal transfer overprinting, laser marking, large character coding, print-and-apply labelling, pallet labelling and production line software.

Live demonstrations throughout the event will show how Videojet technologies can help manufacturers improve code quality, reduce operational complexity and enhance productivity across the packaging line.
