The next step has now been taken in the Franco-German armaments project Main Ground Combat System (MGCS). On the basis of the approval by the German Federal Cartel Office, KNDS Deutschland, KNDS France, Rheinmetall Landsysteme and Thales legally incorporated the ‘MGCS Project Company GmbH’ on 10 April 2025 in Cologne. With an increase in its order intake of more than 40% over the previous year, the Franco-German defense group KNDS achieved all-time high results for the second year in row. The main drivers behind KNDS‘ record order intake, worth a total of 11.2 billion euros, were the national and international LEOPARD 2 A8 programs, SERVAL for France, the howitzer-system RCH 155 for Ukraine, CAESAR export, BOXER for Lithuania and other SCORPION vehicles, as well as significant increased orders for ammunition and support. Changes to the Board of Directors of Defence Group KNDS
With the end of the regular four-year term of the previous KNDS Board of Directors, there are some personnel changes in the defence group’s 10-member Board. They will take effect on 16 December 2024. Dr. Wolfgang Buechele, already Board member, will become Chairman of the Board and will succeed Philippe Peticolin. Philippe Petitcolin remains a Board member and replaces Pierre Todorov, who will be leaving the board. Sie werden zum 16. Dezember 2024 wirksam. Dr. Wolfgang Büchele wird Vorsitzender des Verwaltungsrates. Er war bereits bisher Mitglied des Gremiums und folgt in seiner neuen Funktion auf Philippe Petitcolin. The KNDS Board of Directors has appointed Jean-Paul Alary, 58, as the new group CEO of KNDS, the Franco-German manufacturer of military land systems. He will join KNDS from Safran Aircraft Engines, a division of French high-technology group Safran, where he has been CEO.
