Spectroscopy and Sensing Applications with smart CW Mid-IR Laser
In the fast-changing scientific landscape, the need for precise, efficient, and cost-effective spectroscopic tools is increasingly critical. The TOPO smart, a continuous wave (CW) mid-infrared (mid-IR) laser, represents a significant advancement in molecular spectroscopy. This laser presents a robust alternative to traditional interband and quantum cascade lasers. The TOPO smart is an advanced CW optical parametric oscillator (OPO) that leverages a unique pumping scheme to boost performance while minimizing size and operational costs. Positioned strategically, the TOPO smart bridges the gap between lower power, narrowly tunable interband and quantum cascade lasers, and more powerful, broadly tunable CW OPOs, such as the TOPO series. Application Spectrum of TOPO smart The TOPO…

Power and Stability: Highly reliable CW Raman Fiber Amplifier
TOPTICA’s new highly reliable Raman fiber amplifiers (RFA) are based on patented technology. With their high power of up to 30 W the amplifiers cover the wavelength range from 1120 to 1370 nm that is not accessible by Yb or Er fiber amplifiers. The all-fiber design requires no re-alignment and provides a high degree of stability. The RFA offers a wide tuning range of up to 10nm, a relative intensity noise <1% RMS (10 Hz- 10 MHz) and excellent long term RMS power stability of less than 0.5 % over 100 hours (with a TA pro seed laser). For wavelengths outside this range please enquire for a custom system. The RFA is…

TOPTICA Photonics Strengthens its Presence in France with Direct Sales and Service Operations
As of January 1, 2024, TOPTICA’s French subsidiary TOPTICA Photonics SAS takes over the sales of TOPTICA products in France. This will strengthen the collaboration between French scientific or industrial customers and TOPTICA by offering a direct link between the partners. We envisage a dedicated sales and service consultation as well as opportunities for specialized product development or even common research projects. TOPTICA Photonics SAS will also distribute the products of HighFinesse GmbH, a valued partner of TOPTICA complementing TOPTICA’s lasers with world-class wavelength meters and other optical analyzers. Dedicated to Excellence and Innovation The decision for TOPTICA Photonics to directly perform sales and service operations in France reflects the…

Next Step for Quantum Communication
Quantum networks will be the infrastructure for many disruptive applications, such as efficient long-distance quantum communication and distributed quantum computing. A quantum communication testbed is now operational between Universität des Saarlandes and Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft des Saarlandes Saarbrücken, with dimensions that can simulate real life applications. TOPTICA lasers control the quantum memories and synchronize the two network nodes. The groups of Jürgen Eschner and Christoph Becher at the Saarland University (UdS) are using single trapped ions and single photons to develop and study the basic building blocks for future quantum networks. Bridging 30 km with Entangled Photons An essential aspect of these networks is the ability to distribute…

New Frequency Comb Can Identify Molecules in 20-Nanosecond Snapshots
Used with permission. National Institute of Standards and Technology, rights reserved. From monitoring concentrations of greenhouse gases to detecting COVID in the breath, laser systems known as frequency combs can identify specific molecules as simple as carbon dioxide and as complex as monoclonal antibodies with unprecedented accuracy and sensitivity. Amazing as they are, however, frequency combs have been limited in how fast they can capture a high-speed process such as hypersonic propulsion or the folding of proteins into their final three-dimensional shapes. Now, researchers at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), TOPTICA Photonics AG and the University of Colorado Boulder have developed a frequency comb system that can…

Show all news Lasers for Multi-wavelength Digital Holography
TOPTICA introduces new wavelengths at 445 nm and 447 nm in its TopMode single-frequency diode laser series, pushing the boundaries of high-resolution Raman spectroscopy, microlithography, multi-wavelength digital holography and interferometry. TOPTICA’s TopMode lasers operate as easily as a HeNe, but also offer higher power and the choice of wavelength. The TopMode series sets records in terms of power, coherence and wavelength stability. The proprietary CoHerence-Advanced Regulation Method (CHARM) provides an active stabilization of the lasers’ coherence and ensures continuous single-frequency operation. TopMode and CHARM means nothing less than reliable 24/7 operation. The short wavelengths provided by our TopMode 405 lasers are particularly well-suited to Raman spectroscopy of inorganic materials, for which no…

TOPTICA BEC Awards 2023
The TOPTICA BEC Awards 2023 go to Prof. Monika Aidelsburger, Prof. Tilman Pfau, Prof. Wilhelm Zwerger, and Prof. Alexander Fetter. The award ceremony took place during this year’s Bose-Einstein Condensation (BEC) conference in Sant Feliu de Guixols (Spain), a biennial international conference on quantum gases and related fields. This premier scientific forum allows participants to share their latest developments and discuss future projects. The winners of the TOPTICA BEC Awards are selected every two years by an independent scientific committee. Nominations may be made by any member of the international scientific community. The TOPTICA Senior and Junior BEC Awards honor outstanding research in experimental and/or theoretical physics of quantum degenerate…
