E-Motive: Online Event

Description

Electric mobility stands for the combination of climate protection, social change and economic success. The power train of the future plays a central role in this. In order to find meaningful and successful solutions, an exchange of expertise between industry and research is required. The E-MOTIVE expert forum offers the best opportunity for this online.

Presentation

ESI will give a presentation on day 3 about a customer project with Aditya Auto and their use of SimulationX.
We cordially invite you to the presentation.

Title: Optimizing the Design of Electric Traction Motors by Efficient Hybrid Simulation Methods Illustrated by the Example of a Switched Reluctance Motor
Speakers : Chaitanya Kancharla, Pre-Sales Lead, ESI Software (India) Pvt. Ltd. & Srinivas Kudligi, Aditya Auto
Co-Author: Karsten Todtermuschke, ESI Germany
Slot: Sep. 17th, 2020 at 2.40 pm

Summary

In order to achieve maximum performance of traction motors in operation, it is not only essential to define suitable design parameters such as mechanical profiles, pole combinations, number of windings and poles during the design phase, but also the control system has a significant influence on the desired properties. To save time and costs, the goal is to find the optimal parameters with a minimum number of hardware prototypes. Automated parameter studies on a virtual prototype are a proven and efficient method to significantly reduce the number of required hardware tests.

The presentation is illustrating this process on the example of a Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) from Aditya Auto products and engineering.

About System Modeling

Understand, Optimize, and Control Your Multi-Physics System with Simulation Software

System simulation is created to efficiently model, simulate, and analyze arbitrary machines and plants‘ behavior. It is used in a multitude of industries and applications such as vehicles, construction & industrial machinery, energy systems, aerospace, medical technology, and consumer devices, to name a few.

With SimulationX, you have one platform for modeling, simulating, and analyzing technical systems, including mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics, and controls, as well as thermal, magnetic, and further physical behavior. Model libraries with basic elements representing physical phenomena as well as comprehensive component libraries with out-of-the-box application-oriented model elements ensure you have the right tools available for your task. Use the versatile analysis methods available to draw the correct conclusions from the simulation results.
