WWEC2022 will discuss how Europe and other world regions can achieve a truly sustainable energy supply

The World Wind Energy Association WWEA and the Italian Wind Energy Association ANEV highlight the 20th World Wind Energy Conference WWEC2022 as a meeting place to discuss how the energy supply in Europe and in other world regions can be converted to 100% renewable energy supply, thus achieving true sustainability. Wind power is today one of the fastest growing renewable energy sources and will be a main pillar of the future energy supply, together with all the other renewables which are available in abundance and at affordable cost.

Regional collaboration will help to support and accelerate the shift towards renewables. In Rimini, we will discuss in particular opportunities for and synergies of close collaboration in the energy field in Europe, the Mediterranean and the MENA region.

Accordingly, experts from companies, from governments, international agencies and beyond will gather in Rimini to discuss existing opportunities as well as challenges on the way towards a renewable energy future. WWEA and ANEV invite the world wind community to present their latest achievements and insights and to submit an abstract for presentation at the WWEC2022 website www.wwec2022.org by 1 February.

Hon. Peter Rae AO, WWEA President: “The World Wind Energy Association has a proud history of holding significant Conferences annually since it was formed in 2001. These have been held to not only encourage and promote research, policy development and wind industry education but also for the worldwide spread of the general knowledge of renewables with our associates in the REN Alliance, the solar, hydro, bio and geothermal world associations, and, of course, particularly in relation to wind energy. We see this forthcoming conference with ANEV, to be held in Rimini next June, as providing a strong addition to that record”.

Simone Togni, ANEV President: “We are very honored to host the World Wind Energy Conference for the first time in Italy. Most of the global company of the wind sector will be together in Rimini on June talking about all crucial aspects of wind energy. Therefore, I think it is very important take part to the event sending abstract and collaborating to a green energy future”.

Stefan Gsänger, WWEA Secretary General: “We look forward to the WWEC2022 in Rimini where experts from around Europe and from around the globe will demonstrate that a fast transformation does not require any “bridges” such as natural gas or nuclear power. The future is renewable.”

Davide Astiaso Garcia, ANEV Secretary General: “The conference will be an important meeting point between industry and academia, with the opportunity to present studies and researches that will then be published on conference proceedings indexed on the Scopus scientific database. We therefore invite business representatives and researchers to send their abstract and subsequently a scientific paper that they can present during the event”.
