Siemens Logistics presents innovative baggage handling solutions at PTE

  • June 15 to 17, 2022, Paris, Expo Porte de Versailles, Hall 7.3, Booth Z3.6020
  • Digital twin of operational processes with Baggage 360
  • World first: VarioBelt TilterPlus enables three-way baggage sorting
  • Highly efficient, automated ULD unloading with VarioTip

Siemens Logistics will be presenting numerous innovations for improved baggage handling at Passenger Terminal EXPO 2022. From June 15, trade visitors will have the opportunity to learn all about the company’s extensive airport portfolio at the Expo Porte de Versailles exhibition site in Paris.

At its booth in Hall 7.3, Siemens Logistics will be demonstrating Baggage 360, the versatile airport operations software. This application is currently the only solution on the market that features real-time forecasting of baggage flows. Baggage 360 also enables ground handlers to plan their fixed, mobile and personnel resources with maximum efficiency. This is particularly helpful in managing fluctuating loads or handling transfer connections. Interactive maps representing the movements on the apron offer airport operators the option to visualize their operational workflows virtually using a digital twin and to optimize and control them remotely.

Smooth operation of the systems, too, has an increasingly important part to play in running an airport. The extensive SmartService portfolio from Siemens Logistics enhances the availability of the baggage handling systems and improves operating efficiency and reliability through predictive maintenance.

Alongside its software and service solutions, Siemens Logistics will also be bringing two hardware innovations to Paris: VarioBelt TilterPlus and VarioTip.

The VarioBelt TilterPlus belt conveyor is a world first. With just one device, baggage items can be conveyed in three directions: forward, left and right. In this way, VarioBelt TilterPlus allows airport operators to expand their installations on a modular basis with significantly fewer machines and a smaller footprint.

VarioTip from Siemens Logistics ensures a constantly high baggage throughput. The automated ULD unloading solution can empty up to 20 ULDs in the arrival and transfer areas and process circa 800 bags per hour. With VarioTip, ground handlers can increase the degree of automation of their baggage handling processes while minimizing the need for manual intervention – for more ergonomic working during ground handling operations.

Passenger Terminal EXPO 2022 will be opening its doors from June 15 to 17 at the Porte de Versailles exhibition site in Paris. Under the motto “The world’s biggest airport conference and exhibition is back”, the event will be taking place live for the first time since 2019. The Siemens team is looking forward to welcoming customers and partners in person at booth Z3.6020 in Hall 7.3.
