SSI Flat Pack Picking: 1st Place in the ‘Storage Technology, Containers and Boxes’ Category

With SSI Flat Pack Picking, a currently unique, automated and turnkey system solution for the efficient pallet assembly of bulky items, SSI Schaefer supports furniture retailers in e-commerce as well as in store delivery. In addition, the concept can also be transferred to other industries that work with large and heavy goods. The picking module with smart gantry robots enables efficient handling of a broad spectrum of products, relieves employees of less ergonomic tasks and ensures a constant flow of goods. SSI Schaefer supplies the customized system solution SSI Flat Pack Picking completely from one source. Both gantry robots and grippers were developed and integrated by RO-BER, a company within the SSI Schaefer Group.

"The award as "materialfluss product of the year 2023" underlines the innovative character of the SSI Flat Pack Picking solution," Elmar Stöve, Managing Director at RO-BER, summarizes. "The award encourages us to be in tune with the times and to invest in the right technologies that meet high interest and corresponding demand. We would like to thank the readers for the votes and materialfluss for the award."

WAMAS Case Picking: 2nd Place in the ‘Logistics Software’ Category

With the case picking system and the intelligent software module WAMAS Case Picking from SSI Schaefer, retailers and wholesalers are able to improve delivery efficiency despite increasing market demands. It enables the fully automated compilation of a product range for store-specific delivery. The software solution from the WAMAS portfolio developed by SSI Schaefer is tailor-made for the store-specific compilation of the pallet, which significantly reduces the picking and sorting effort in the store. In addition, the optimal volume utilization or the stability optimization for transport, leads to significant cost reductions in the entire process chain. Reference projects worldwide prove the efficiency, modularity and scalability in practice.

"We are very pleased about this award for WAMAS Case Picking by the readership of the trade magazine materialfluss. It makes us proud that they appreciate the unique solution and place their trust in us," emphasizes Thomas Elstner, Product Manager WAMAS Robotics at SSI Schaefer, and thanks everyone who participated in the voting.
