Concentrated knowledge about digital innovations

Digital innovation is disrupting our way of life, our social relations, and the economy at an ever-increasing pace. They are also at the heart of business start-ups and industrial transformation. How can it be aligned with entrepreneurial activity in an effective and sustainable way and why is this so important? Answers to these and many other questions can be found at the fifth Summer School "Entrepreneurship and Digital Innovation" of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) with HEC Paris from June 30 to July 11 at the TUM Campus Heilbronn.

The two-week program is designed for students and young professionals with one to four years of professional experience and an excellent command of English. Applicants should be curious about new business models, enjoy working in a group and have a desire to experiment and take on challenges.

Industry insights, case studies and tools

The aim is to introduce participants to two key dimensions of digital innovation: Start-up entrepreneurship and industrial transformation. Experts from two of Europe’s largest business schools – TUM School of Management and HEC Paris – will provide up-to-date industry insights, numerous case studies and the right tools to develop and test innovative products. The course is taught by lecturers from HEC Paris and the TUM Campus Heilbronn. In the first week, lecturers from HEC Paris teach basic skills, methods and tools of digital entrepreneurship.

Interactive learning formats and a guest lecture

The second week is under the responsibility of TUM Campus Heilbronn. Ali Sunyaev, TUM Vice President for Campus Heilbronn and Professor of Information Infrastructures, David Wuttke, Professor of Supply Chain Management, and Jingui Xie, Professor of Business Analytics, will present cases and examples of digital transformation and technological innovation in industries such as healthcare and retail and discuss them with the participants. They will try to answer the question of what makes digital innovation a top or a flop. Participants will work in groups to find solutions to digital transformation challenges proposed by business leaders. Interactivity is a top priority at the Summer School, and numerous exercises and group discussions are an integral part of the program. The program is rounded off by a guest lecture from the business world and a workshop by the start-up forge TUM Venture Labs. There is also an attractive and varied leisure program with a city tour through Heilbronn, a winery tour to the Albrecht Kiessling winery
and participation in the Campus Funfair on 4 July, a big party for all students and staff at the TUM Campus Heilbronn.
