LogiMAT 2026: “Zero Touch” Intralogistics with Overhead Conveyor Technology from SCHÖNENBERGER
Hall 3, Stand D51
At LogiMAT 2026 in Stuttgart, SCHÖNENBERGER Systeme will showcase a live intralogistics installation that brings the “Zero Touch” approach to life – from goods receipt to goods dispatch. At the core are combined transport of hanging and flat goods, efficient handling of batch sizes 1+, and fully automated movement of mixed items – including fast sorting, sequencing, and precise delivery to packing or workstations. Highlights include the modular overhead conveyor system ILS2100 and the pocket sorter system with Sorter Bag 2.0, enabling extremely fast, automated unloading for maximum packing frequency.
The “Zero Touch” concept is shaping the future of intralogistics: the goal is to eliminate manual interventions throughout the process – in practice, this means reducing them to an absolute minimum. SCHÖNENBERGER demonstrates live how overhead conveyor technology serves as the backbone of highly automated intralogistics. Growing assortments, shorter lead times, and high return rates are key drivers; automated overhead conveyor systems deliver measurable benefits in speed, process reliability, and transparency.
The ILS2100 relocates transport and storage space-savingly to the ceiling. Goods are conveyed gently and securely, freeing up valuable floor space for value-adding activities. Automated loading and unloading stations, along with load carriers tailored to hanging and flat goods – from trolleys to sorter bags – ensure continuous material flow. Combined processes are essential for tightly scheduled B2C operations: SCHÖNENBERGER Systeme consolidates hanging and flat goods by order and delivers items precisely to the packing station – with delivery times measured in seconds. Returns are reintegrated into inventory immediately after quality checks and identification.
At the same time, SCHÖNENBERGER shows where “Zero Touch” is already reality – and where manual steps still add value. Touch-free receipt of incoming goods, fully automated induction, singulation, sorting, and sequencing through to just-in-time or just-in-sequence delivery to workstations and shipping areas are state of the art. Self-opening pocket systems enable buffering and returns handling at a high level of automation; RFID ensures complete transparency and traceability. However, at the packing moment, many brands still rely on quality control, presentation, and a “signature experience” when the customer opens the parcel. Flat, sustainable sorting and high packing density can be achieved technologically but remain a deliberate trade-off between full automation and targeted manual finishing, depending on product, brand, and cost considerations.
Against the backdrop of labor shortages, the “Zero Touch” approach shows its strength: SCHÖNENBERGER significantly reduces manual tasks, relieves employees, improves ergonomics and throughput, lowers error rates, and increases process quality – allowing teams to focus on value-adding tasks such as quality checks and exception handling, supported by intelligent control and IT integration.
At LogiMAT 2026, SCHÖNENBERGER brings this performance to life: visitors will see automatic loading and unloading of the pocket sorter, automated singulation of GOH (Garments on Hanger) with precise handover to the workstation, and fully automated induction of flat goods into the system flow. This demonstrates how overhead conveyor technology protects sensitive products from dirt and damage, ensures smooth processes in logistics, warehousing, and distribution, and gives companies a decisive competitive edge.
SCHÖNENBERGER Systeme invites all interested parties to experience innovations in overhead conveyor technology and Zero Touch processes live in Hall 3, Stand D51 – and discover where automation delivers the greatest benefits today.
