Zinco – only manufacturer worldwide with over 20 Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for green roof systems

While the provision of this data by manufacturers is still voluntary, Zinco was already a pioneer on the green roof market with its first core EPD in 2020. Including the current verifications, EPDs are now available for over 20 system build-ups.

Zinco, therefore, continues to have the distinction of being the only manufacturer worldwide that can provide EPDs for the majority of its green roof systems.

By means of scientifically based, qualitative data, EPDs depict all relevant environmental impacts of construction products across their entire life cycle, for example, details of their carbon footprint, energy and resource use or recycling potential.

With the current verifications by EPD Global, EPDs are now available for over 20 different, standard Zinco system build-ups. In addition, Zinco can generate, on request, Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) as manufacturer declarations for customised project-specific systems with different individual products such as protection and drainage layers, filter sheets and more.

EPDs are indispensable today when assessing the sustainability of buildings as part of a building certification system (LEED, BREEAM, Green Globes, HQE, DGNB, BNB) or in the case of public tender projects. Furthermore, they are often significant for quality verification when providing loans and funding.
