Djordje Spremic is the new Managing Director at Zinco GmbH

An experienced expert in the construction industry

The 46 year old with a Master’s in Economics from Vienna University of Economics and Business is particularly qualified for this position due to his extensive professional experience in the construction industry and his profound understanding of the sector. Before moving to Zinco within the Holcim Group, Djordje Spremic worked for PORR AG, the European construction group. As commercial manager at PORR AG, he was most recently responsible for the area of building construction in Switzerland.

An international character and strong intercultural skills set Djordje Spremic apart. He grew up bilingual (Serbian and German), speaks fluent English and Russian and has a deep understanding of different cultural and economic contexts.

Zinco spearheading the Holcim “NextGen Growth 2030” strategy

As part of this strategic plan, Spremic will focus on further strengthening its position in the German market, the expansion of export activities and the systematic development of global markets.

The integration of Zinco into the Holcim Group is a key factor here: “Zinco fits perfectly into the Holcim strategy ‘NextGen Growth 2030’. Holcim is pursuing their goal of becoming the leading provider of sustainable construction solutions worldwide. For us, sustainability is not in contradiction with profitability but is the primary driver of our future growth”, says Spremic.

Innovation through a circular economy and an holistic approach

Spremic will focus in particular on ECO Cycle Technology scaling and new system solutions. The aim is to revolutionise the circular economy within the construction industry and to rebuild towns and cities literally “out of themselves”, by means of high-quality processing of construction demolition materials that are reused in new roof systems.

“In the urban space, green roofing is the topic of the future. Thanks to synergies, Holcim can now offer complete solutions from one source, from the foundation right up to the green roof. This continuity significantly increases the value for the customer and allows for pioneering environmental and economic projects”, Spremic continues.
