Alliance SIH partners with vitagroup as its Distributor of the Health Intelligence Platform in France
Bringing data together centrally
HIP is a vendor-neutral health data platform that enables healthcare institutions to regain control over their health data without having to replace their existing applications.
It brings together clinical data from electronic health records, specialist applications, patient portals and other systems into a shared, structured foundation, built on the international standards openEHR and HL7 FHIR.
This makes previously scattered information accessible, consistent and immediately usable. As a result, HIP creates the foundation for better care, AI-native applications and the rapid development of new digital solutions. At the same time, the platform strengthens data governance and resilience. Even if a hospital information system becomes unavailable, for instance following a cyberattack, access to relevant patient data remains possible.
First deployment in Lyon
Hospices Civils de Lyon will be the first organisation to deploy HIP as part of the partnership. The initial use case is a patient timeline, bringing together relevant information from the Easily electronic health record and other sources into a single, chronological view that is clear and actionable for clinicians. The pilot phase is expected to conclude by the end of 2026, with go-live planned for early 2027.
Jean-Christophe Bernadac, Chief Digital Officer, Hospices Civils de Lyon, said: “The patient timeline turns data scattered across several applications into a clear view of the care pathway. This delivers a direct benefit for professionals in our institution, for coordination and for the quality of care provided to our patients. Secure hosting of the primary data platform on which this timeline is based also provides a resilience solution for accessing patient records if our HIS becomes unavailable, for example in the event of a cyberattack.”
Proven across Europe
Already deployed at scale in several European countries, vitagroup HIP has demonstrated its robustness and its ability to support ambitious transformation projects. HIP currently supports more than 150 hospitals and over 1,000 clinics and healthcare organisations across Europe, including the Shared Care Record in Catalonia.
Dr Nils Hellrung, CEO Strategy & Operations, vitagroup AG, said: “Working with Alliance SIH is an important milestone for us, as it brings HIP into the French market through a partner with deep local insight and strong operational commitment. Together, we are building on open standards to help healthcare organisations regain control of their data and use it in ways that directly support clinicians and patients. Our role is to provide a solid, proven foundation, while the real value will be created locally, in the hands of those delivering care.”
David Boussard, Chief Executive Officer of CPage, said: “This partnership with vitagroup reflects a strong conviction at CPage: innovation only has value if it sustainably strengthens the autonomy of healthcare institutions and delivers tangible benefits for public hospitals. By building on open and proven European technology, we are helping to create a more collaborative, more independent and more useful form of hospital digital technology for professionals and patients alike.”
Olivier Barets, Deputy Managing Director, Strategic Marketing, Communications & Partnerships, La Poste Santé & Autonomie, said: “With HIP, Alliance SIH is moving from a data-centric strategy to its first operational platform. Led by La Poste Santé & Autonomie and Docaposte Santé, this approach is not about adding another tool: it gives healthcare institutions back control over their clinical data and promotes its primary use for care delivery, within a sovereign, open and secure framework backed by Docaposte Santé’s hosting expertise.”
