Zinco at GalaBau 2026: Award of Innovation Medal

Visitors to the trade fair were very enthusiastic when they saw all that could be done on roofs to create green and blue infrastructure in urban spaces: whether it was to do with WATER (Stormwater Management Roof, cascade drainage, grey water utilisation, climate improvement through evaporation on the Sponge City Roof), ENERGY (combining solar and green roof, solar retrofitting) or NATURE (biodiversity modules for the preservation of species diversity).

There was a demand for connection in many respects, for example, where a solar green roof is combined with retention spacers. Or, where the diversity of species increases solely as a result of the capillary-based water supply in the innovative HydroSpacer® in the Sponge City Roof system build-up. The HydroSpacer® can provide up to 11 l of water per m² of roof area for the plants during dry periods (thanks to the capillary action components Capistrips® and Capifleece®).

This product innovation meant that Zinco was not only part of the GREEN-BLUE PATH at the trade fair but was also deserved winner of the GaLaBau Innovation Medal 2026.
