Developed in cooperation with Innovative Sensor Technology IST AG, Sartorius has launched BioPAT® Foam as part of its Biostat STR® Generation 3 system. The BioPAT® Foam is a single-use sensing system used to monitor foam level in single-use bioreactors. A good deal of current pharmaceutical production relies on cell cultures with single-use systems increasingly becoming the preferred manufacturing solution. Cell cultures usually require constant stirring and gas feeding, which in the presence of proteins, leads to the formation of foam inside the bioreactor. Recertification of ESCC qualified Hi-Rel Pt temperature sensors completed
The journey into the universe continues: Innovative Sensor Technology IST AG’s Space Sensor receives its requalification, thereby reinforcing its sustainable presence in outer space. Currently the only ESCC qualified Pt temperature sensors in the market, IST AG’s Hi-Rel Pt temperature sensors have been re-confirmed as suitable for space applications. The thin-film sensor elements provide stable measuring results at 100,000 cycles from -200 ° C to +200 ° C (the equivalent of the ISS circumnavigating Earth 16 times a day for nearly 20 years), which ratifies their resistance against thermal cycles and percussion. Dr Jörn Lützen appointed new managing director at IST AG
IST AG is pleased to be able fill the vacant position with an internal candidate who will continue the outlined path. Jörn Lützen has been Chief Operation Officer of IST since 2009 and succeeds Dr Mirko Lehmann, who has taken over management of the production center for flow measurement engineering for the Endress+Hauser Group. As director of production, he was also responsible for process technology, metrology and analytical laboratory, special equipment, and industrial engineering, as well as technical services and facility management. The holder is designed to fit on microscope slides and thus it can be integrated into microscope slide handling frames allowing for space efficient microfluidic setups. It can be fixated on any flat surface with double-sided tape or mounted with two ISO M3 screws with a hole [M1] pitch of 20mm. Vaccine transportation needs the right chip
Keeping vaccines cooled during storage and transportation requires a special RTD temperature sensor, this is why: Different vaccine manufacturers require various storage temperatures. Some typical storage temperatures for vaccines are -20°C, others require storage at -70°C. The industry standard for thin film RTD sensors are limited to -30°C for class A and -50°C for class B, which is in conflict with this requirement. The IST PW series is the only thin film RTD in the market, that comes with a specified accuracy all the way down to negative -70°C or lower.
