Jenoptik will more than double on-site production capacity for its micro-optics business in Dresden
The Jenoptik Group intends to build a state-of-the-art production building with office complex in Dresden. In total, the photonics group is planning to invest around 70 million euros in a cleanroom facility for micro-optics and sensors for semiconductor equipment. Jenoptik acquired a 24,000-square-meter plot of land in the Airportpark Dresden in May 2021, and since then has planned and designed further details of the buildings. The Jenoptik Group achieved record figures in order intake, revenue and EBITDA in the 2nd quarter 2021. From April to June order intake almost doubled compared with the prior-year period, revenue grew by almost 30 percent and EBITDA by approx. 120 percent. In particular the very good development in the Light & Optics division, especially in the semiconductor equipment and biophotonics areas and by TRIOPTICS which is consolidated for the first time, contributed to this. Der Jenoptik-Konzern verzeichnete im 2. Quartal 2021 Rekordwerte bei Auftragseingang, Umsatz und EBITDA. Der Auftragseingang hat sich von April bis Juni im Vergleich zum Vorjahreszeitraum fast verdoppelt, der Umsatz legte knapp 30 Prozent zu und das EBITDA rund 120 Prozent. Marposs übernimmt alle 40 Jenoptik-Mitarbeiterinnen und -Mitarbeiter des Bereichs am Hauptstandort in Peseux, Schweiz, sowie in Deutschland in Ratingen und Ludwigsburg. Der Jenoptik-Umsatz mit Prozess-Messtechnik für Schleifmaschinen lag 2020 bei rund 7 Mio Euro. Marposs takes over all Jenoptik employees at the main site in Peseux, Switzerland, as well as in Ratingen and Ludwigsburg, Germany, 40 people in total. In 2020, Jenoptik generated revenue of around 7 million euros with process metrology for grinding machines. Jenoptik verkauft ihren Bereich Kristallzüchtung an Hellma Materials und setzt Fokussierung des Geschäfts auf photonische Applikationen weiter fort. Hellma Materials übernimmt alle 25 Mitarbeiter und führt sämtliche Geschäfte weiter. Die Hellma Materials GmbH, Jena, übernimmt den Bereich der Kristallzüchtung für Germanium von Jenoptik. Ein Vertrag zwischen den Beteiligten wurde am gestrigen Montag unterzeichnet. New owner for crystal growth business in Eisenach
Jenoptik sells crystal growth business to Hellma Materials, and continues to focus its business on photonic applications. Hellma Materials takes over all 25 employees, and continues all business activities. Hellma Materials GmbH, Jena, is taking over Jenoptik’s germanium crystal growth business. A contract between the parties was signed yesterday (Monday). The acquisition is still subject to regulatory approval, which is expected within the next weeks. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. Hellma Materials is a specialist in the production of synthetic crystals and optical ceramics for various applications, primarily for microlithography, optics, laser technology and radiation detection.
