Weltweit beginnen Streitkräfte Robotic und autonome militärische Systeme sowie Elektrofahrzeuge in ihren Einsatz zu integrieren. Aus einer Zukunftsvision wurde Realität bei internationalen Konflikten und Einsätzen. Armeen und andere Einsatzkräfte setzen RAS künftig z.B. bei Katastrophenschutz und Kampfmittelbeseitigung ein. Unbemannte, computergesteuerte Fahrzeuge vermitteln Situationsbewusstsein oder bringen Hilfe in entlegene Regionen. Bereits jetzt werden RAS für die Überwachung von Grenzen oder Unterstützung in lebensfeindlichen Landstrichen eingesetzt, insbesondere bei extremen klimatischen Bedingungen oder erhöhter militärischer Gefährdungslage.
