Die Oper erzählt die Initiationsgeschichte eines jungen Mannes namens Albert vor dem Hintergrund der deutsch-deutschen Geschichte. Schauplatz ist die Stadt Berlin. Paradigmatisch für die einzelnen Stadien, die uns ins Westberlin der 70er Jahre, in eine mythologische Zeit auf dem deutsch-deutschen Niemandsland der Pfaueninsel, in die Westberliner Theaterszene der Vorwendezeit und schließlich in die Jahre nach der Wende führen, stehen vier Frauenfiguren: Lise, Studentin der Politologie, Friederike, Studentin der Zahnmedizin, Marie, Schauspielerin, und Anna, eine junge Frau aus Ostberlin. »Die Musik ist ein stetig strömender Fluss inmitten des unsicheren Netzes von Zeit und Ort. Leipzig’s culture is back on stage
The City of Leipzig’s cultural entities have coordinated the timing of their re-opening and have aligned it with the city’s larger plan. Following an intense rehearsal phase and essential organizational preparations, performance operations will once again commence Saturday, 19 June 2021. The Oper Leipzig, the Gewandhaus, the city theatre Schauspiel Leipzig and the children’s and youth theatre Theater der Jungen Welt have published their revised schedules of events today, 7 June 21, and advanced tickets will be released in phases for sale. The recent developments point hopefully toward a stabile incidence rate, and working conditions on-stage and off, seating capacity and each entity’s hygiene concept all depend on this stability.…

Designated Director of Leipzig Opera House is getting started
In the interim since his appointment in the autumn of 2019, Tobias Wolff’s plans for the 2022/23 season are taking concrete form, and he has already introduced several important projects. One of those projects is a projected collaboration with the Théatre de Champs Elysées in Paris. The selection process for the position of Oper Leipzig General Music Director and the task of Musical Director of the Musikalische Komödie has already commenced. Tobias Wolff, der designierte Intendant der Oper Leipzig, hat am 1. Juni 2021 sein offizielles Vorbereitungsjahr für die Spielzeit 2022/23 begonnen. Zum Start begrüßte ihn die Kulturbürgermeisterin Leipzigs vor dem Neuen Rathaus. The online premiere of Kálmán’s operetta Gräfin Mariza will take place on Saturday, 8 May 2021, at 7:00pm, offering audiences a first look at the newly-renovated Musikalische Komödie. After a two-year period of restoration and repair, the hall is set to be festively re-opened in the coming autumn, but now, the theater will be presented online by Leipzig’s Lord Mayor Burkhard Jung and Culture Mayor Dr. Skadi Jennicke.
