Seit 2005 entwickelt und fertigt Sigma Laser in Hanau Laserschweißsysteme; das Programm umfasst sechs 5-Achs-Systeme für Reparatur und präzise Fertigung. Teure Werkzeuge und Bauteile sollen instand gesetzt werden, statt sie zu ersetzen. Jeder Tag, an dem eine Form oder eine Anlage steht, kostet Geld. Gleichzeitig vertragen feine Nähte nur wenig Wärme, und das Ergebnis muss sich wiederholen lassen.
