Renolab is extending its certification
Starting from 2019, the microbiology department at Renolab is extending its certification, thus continuing the providing of pharmacodynamics (PD) services based on the relationship between the properties of new drugs and bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal effects. The tests will be conducted following the standard guidelines dictated by the European Medicine Agency (EMA/CHMP/594085/2015) and the procedures described by the European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (EUCAST). Parallel to the efficacy studies, Renolab is further expanding the certification for cell and molecular biology studies including genotypic characterization and genetic stability. All Shiga Toxine-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) subtypes are pathogenic
The Pathogenicity assessment of “Shiga toxine-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) and the public health risk posed by contamination of food with STEC” from 2013 was recently reviewed by EFSA. Based on the assessment it was concluded that all STEC strains are pathogenic in humans, capable of causing at least diarrhoea and that all STEC subtypes may be associated with severe illness (defined as bloody diarrhoea (BD), haemolytic uraemic syndrome (HUS) and/or hospitalization). Menschen die mit dem Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 infiziert sind, können das Virus durch Tröpfchen beim Ausatmen, Sprechen, Husten oder Niesen übertragen. Das Tragen von Mund-Nase-Schutzmasken oder anderen Atemschutzmasken soll die Ausbreitung des Coronavirus reduzieren. Studien haben gezeigt, dass in den Masken infizierter Personen die Viren nachweisbar sind. Zum Schutz einer weiteren Ausbreitung von COVID-19 bietet das BAV INSTITUT ab sofort neben anderen Oberflächenuntersuchungen auch die Prüfung von getragenen oder wieder aufbereiteten Gesichtsmasken auf den Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 an. Stabilitätsstudien belegen die Qualität eines Arzneimittels. Sie dienen als Grundlage bei der Festlegung von Spezifikationen und Haltbarkeitsangaben. Dabei wird der Einfluss von Lagerdauer, Temperatur, Feuchtigkeit und Licht auf die Produktqualität untersucht. Langzeitstudien ermöglichen dann zum Beispiel die Kennzeichnung von temperaturempfindlichen Produkten mit Lagerungshinweisen. Auch nach der Zulassung können mittels Follow-up Studien Anpassungen zu Spezifikationen, Kennzeichnungen oder Haltbarkeiten vorgenommen werden.
