The Queen and the Gold

The world’s most minted monarch has adorned millions of coins in gold, silver, platinum and palladium since 1952.

Now the appearance of banknotes, stamps, coins and more will change. Until that time comes and they are finished, coins with the image of the Queen are still being produced. By the way, it is customary for a new monarch to face the opposite way. So, King Charles will probably turn his head to the left – a custom that has existed since the 17th century. It is always a good idea to buy a few gold coins. Gold has excellent properties; its value cannot depreciate, and it helps to preserve wealth. It’s different with paper money, because the money supply has increased about fortyfold in the last 30 years.

However, banks and coin dealers charge a premium on the metal value. The purchase and sale of gold investment coins is VAT-free in this country as long as the coins function as legal tender. And after the holding period of one year, the coins can be resold tax-free. If investors want leverage on the gold price, then investing in the stocks of gold companies is recommended. The leverage in gold stocks ensures that share prices rise and fall disproportionately to the price of gold. Since the high for the year, gold has suffered some losses. But experts expect a turbulent stock market in the fall, and in addition, people in Europe are afraid of a dark winter. The sell-off in gold could then be over. In any case, the current phase of weakness is perhaps the best time to enter. Osisko Development or Tudor Gold would be suitable.
