For sport, for people, and for our region: STEGO supports the HAKRO Merlins as an official partner

But what do control cabinet climate control and basketball have in common, apart from the fact that both are full of tension? At first glance, STEGO and the “Wizards” of the HAKRO Merlins – aside from their roots in Hohenlohe within the Heilbronn-Franken region – may not seem to have much in common.

However, Michael Dehnert, Managing Director of STEGO Elektrotechnik GmbH, sees many parallels:

“Basketball stands for dynamism, speed, and the determination to never give up – qualities we share with the Merlins. We are also united by international diversity and a strong team culture. It’s a perfect fit between sport and business, where no one is too proud to go the extra mile.”

The HAKRO Merlins and STEGO: two worlds, one spirit

Just as in sport, a company competing on a global stage cannot afford to be satisfied with past achievements. You always have to stay one move ahead.

This spirit is shared by the HAKRO Merlins and STEGO alike. Relegation to the ProA Basketball Bundesliga after the 2023/2024 season was a setback that may have slowed the “Wizards” down, but it did not stop them. Their goal is to return to Germany’s top basketball league in 2026 – the club’s 40th anniversary year. They are pursuing this objective in a systematic and focused way. With well-structured club management, a strong commitment to youth development, professional training conditions, and the support of a dedicated environment, they have already laid the foundation for future success.
