Combined values for Opel Mokka GSE according to WLTP1: Energy consumption 18.5 kWh/100 km, CO2 emissions 0 g/km; CO2 label: A.

The Opel GSE Formula E Team and Sparco are joining forces for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship: The Italian racing brand will become the official technical partner  of the complete racing clothing of the regular drivers of the Opel GSE Formula E Team as well as test and development driver Sophia Flörsch for the 2026/27 season.

With the cooperation, Opel Motorsport and Sparco are expanding their existing partnership from rallying to the Formula E World Championship. The tailor-made racewear, which includes racing overalls, gloves and fireproof underwear as well as racing shoes, is designed to meet the high demands of top-class sport and combines safety, functionality and a distinctive OMG! GSE look.

Teamwork: Design ideas perfectly implemented

“Sparco stands for outstanding products, we have been experiencing this ourselves in rallying for many years. Our choice was therefore quite simple: Sparco delivers high quality and the flexibility we need in motorsport,” said Jörg Schrott, Team Principal of the Opel GSE Formula E Team. "In addition, our Opel equipment simply looks really strong. The design follows our GSE look with the fresh, powerful yellow. Sparco has implemented our ideas perfectly – I am delighted with the result.”

The racewear thus reflects the striking, bold GSE design – something everyone can experience for themselves thanks to Opel’s ‘everyday performance models’. The Mokka GSE is already on sale and will soon be joined by the new Corsa GSE2.

Global player: Sparco has been a recognised provider for decades

Sparco has been an internationally recognised motorsport partner for decades. Founded in 1977, the company is considered one of the world’s leading providers of safety equipment and is present in international racing series with driver equipment, safety components and team equipment. Sparco is active in more than 100 countries and has been equipping renowned teams and drivers for many years.

"It is enormously exciting for Sparco to open this new chapter in electric motorsport together with Opel," said Diego Lamura, Sparco Chief Marketing Officer and Global Partnerships. "We are pleased to be part of this journey from the very beginning and to contribute our know-how to equipment that offers drivers maximum safety, a high level of comfort and such a visually striking appearance."

Sophia Flörsch: “We have the perfect partner in Sparco”

For drivers, personal equipment is an important performance factor in the cockpit. In addition to the safety aspect, comfort, freedom of movement and the direct feeling on the steering wheel and pedals play a decisive role.

“Especially on race weekends, we often wear racing overalls, fireproof underwear, shoes and gloves longer than normal clothing. That is why these things have to be safe, fit comfortably, work well and, of course, look good,” said Sophia Flörsch. “With Sparco, our Opel GSE Formula E Team has the perfect partner: The quality is top, I like the design very much, and especially with gloves and shoes, it is crucial for us to have the right feel and the perfect fit.”

The new Formula E season starts in Jeddah on December 18 and 19. The two races in Saudi Arabia will mark the first appearance of the Opel factory team in the World Championship.
