Erweitertes MoU zwischen Bayern und Japan unterzeichnet: BioM, City of Kawasaki und KIIP intensivieren Kooperation in den Life Sciences
Die bayerische Biotech-Clusterorganisation BioM Biotech Cluster Development GmbH (BioM), die City of Kawasaki, Japan, und das Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion (KIIP) haben heute in München ein erweitertes Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) unterzeichnet. Ziel der Kooperationsvereinbarung ist es, den wirtschaftlichen Austausch in den Bereichen Gesundheit, Biotechnologie und Life Sciences zu fördern sowie Industrie-Industrie- und Industrie-Akademia-Kooperationen zwischen Kawasaki und dem Bayerischen Biotechnologie-Netzwerk zu intensivieren. Im Mittelpunkt der Vereinbarung stehen der strukturierte Informationsaustausch zu Technologien sowie Entwicklungen in Industrie und Wissenschaft, Matchmaking- und Delegationsformate sowie der Austausch von Best Practices im Technologietransfer und bei der Internationalisierung kleiner und mittlerer Unternehmen. The Bavarian biotech cluster organization BioM Biotech Cluster Development GmbH (BioM), the City of Kawasaki, Japan, and the Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion (KIIP) re-signed an expanded memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Munich today. The aim of the cooperation agreement is to promote economic exchange in the fields of health, biotechnology, and life sciences, as well as to intensify industry-industry and industry-academia cooperation between Kawasaki and the Bavarian biotechnology network. The agreement focuses on the structured exchange of information on technologies and developments in industry and science, matchmaking and delegation formats, and the exchange of best practices in technology transfer and the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises. The Golden Ticket 2025 supported by Daiichi Sankyo for the BioM incubator MAxL has been awarded to RNhale. This award provides the Martinsried-based start-up the opportunity to advance its research on RNA-based therapies for lung diseases free of charge for one year at the MAxL incubator in the Martinsried Biotechnology Innovation and Start-up Center (IZB). 2.5 million euros for five research teams from Bavaria
With 2.5 million euros in total funding, the Bavarian m4 Award supports innovative biomedical research projects. The selected research projects deal with the major widespread diseases Alzheimer’s, cancer and rheumatoid arthritis and provide solutions for RNA therapies. The prize money is intended to enable the winners to spin off from the academy.
