BioM, bioRN und ESMT Berlin gründen den „Unified Hub for Healthcare Innovation“ in Deutschland
BioM Biotech Cluster Development GmbH, bioRN Life Science Cluster und die ESMT Berlin haben die Gründung eines Unified Hub for Healthcare Innovation bekannt gegeben. Im Rahmen dieser Allianz werden die beiden Biotechnologie-Clusterorganisationen und das DEEP – Institute for Deep Tech Innovation an der ESMT strategisch zusammenarbeiten, um Deutschlands Position als führender Standort für die Translation wissenschaftlicher Durchbrüche in wirksame Gesundheitslösungen weiter zu stärken. Strengthening Europe’s innovation power: BioM and BIOGA reinforce their partnership
BioM, the Bavarian biotechnology cluster organization, and BIOGA, the life sciences cluster of the northwestern Spanish region of Galicia, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during BayOConnect 2026 in Munich. The agreement establishes the foundation for an innovation-driven collaboration between the two organizations, with the aim of further connecting the life sciences ecosystems of Bavaria and Galicia. BayOConnect 2026: BioM shows at its biotech conference how Europe’s innovations can be brought to market more quickly
BayOConnect 2026 brought together leading players from the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, scientific, investment, and political sectors from across Europe in Munich. Under the theme “Driving biotech in Europe,” experts discussed how Europe can translate its innovative strength into competitiveness, technological sovereignty, and economic success. The key topic “Innovation across TechBio” highlighted the potential of combining biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies. With around 450 participants, 425 partnering meetings, 6 start-up pitches, 19 posters, and 40 sponsors, exhibitors, and partners, BayOConnect once again established itself as one of Europe’s most important networking platforms for biotechnology. Bavaria strengthens pandemic preparedness
How can we better prepare for future pandemics and health crises? This central question was the focus of the event “Biomedical Preparedness and Health Resilience,” hosted by the Pandemic Alliance Munich (PAM) in collaboration with BioM at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences. Over 100 participants from academia, industry, healthcare, and politics came together to discuss perspectives and innovative approaches to preparing for potential pandemic and crisis situations in healthcare. It became clear that effective preparation for infectious disease outbreaks can only be achieved through the interplay of prevention, surveillance, and rapid response capabilities. Wie können wir uns besser auf zukünftige Pandemien und gesundheitliche Krisen vorbereiten? Diese zentrale Frage stand im Mittelpunkt der Veranstaltung Biomedical Preparedness and Health Resilience, zu der die Pandemic Alliance Munich (PAM) gemeinsam mit BioM in die Bayerische Akademie der Wissenschaften eingeladen hatten. Über 100 Teilnehmende aus Wissenschaft, Industrie, Gesundheitswesen und Politik kamen zusammen, um Perspektiven und innovative Ansätze zur Vorbereitung auf mögliche Pandemie- und Krisensituationen in der Gesundheitsversorgung zu diskutieren. Dabei wurde deutlich, dass eine effektive Vorbereitung auf Infektionsereignisse nur durch das Zusammenspiel von Prävention, Surveillance und schneller Reaktionsfähigkeit gelingt.
