Bavaria strengthens pandemic preparedness
How can we better prepare for future pandemics and health crises? This central question was the focus of the event “Biomedical Preparedness and Health Resilience,” hosted by the Pandemic Alliance Munich (PAM) in collaboration with BioM at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences. Over 100 participants from academia, industry, healthcare, and politics came together to discuss perspectives and innovative approaches to preparing for potential pandemic and crisis situations in healthcare. It became clear that effective preparation for infectious disease outbreaks can only be achieved through the interplay of prevention, surveillance, and rapid response capabilities. Bayern stärkt die Pandemie-Vorsorge
Wie können wir uns besser auf zukünftige Pandemien und gesundheitliche Krisen vorbereiten? Diese zentrale Frage stand im Mittelpunkt der Veranstaltung Biomedical Preparedness and Health Resilience, zu der die Pandemic Alliance Munich (PAM) gemeinsam mit BioM in die Bayerische Akademie der Wissenschaften eingeladen hatten. Über 100 Teilnehmende aus Wissenschaft, Industrie, Gesundheitswesen und Politik kamen zusammen, um Perspektiven und innovative Ansätze zur Vorbereitung auf mögliche Pandemie- und Krisensituationen in der Gesundheitsversorgung zu diskutieren. From idea to application: BioM Bootcamp accelerates the transfer of biomedical innovations
As part of this year’s BioEntrepreneur Bootcamp organized by BioM Biotech Cluster GmbH, eleven pre-seed teams took the crucial next step on the path from scientific concept to market-ready application. The training program, which lasted several weeks, culminated in Demo Day, where the teams presented their biomedical innovations to investors, mentors, and industry experts and showcased the progress of their entrepreneurial development. Among the many outstanding ideas in the fields of diagnostics, drug development, and therapeutic approaches, Coldex received the audience award for its antiviral nasal spray based on lipid nanoparticles. Von der Idee zur Anwendung: BioM Bootcamp beschleunigt biomedizinische Innovationen
Im Rahmen des diesjährigen BioEntrepreneur Bootcamps der BioM Biotech Cluster GmbH erreichten elf Pre-Seed-Teams den entscheidenden nächsten Schritt auf dem Weg von der wissenschaftlichen Idee zur marktfähigen Anwendung. Das mehrwöchige Trainingsprogramm fand seinen Höhepunkt im Demo Day, bei dem die Teams ihre biomedizinischen Innovationen vor Investoren, Mentoren und Branchenexperten präsentierten und die Fortschritte ihrer unternehmerischen Entwicklung sichtbar machten. BioM und Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München vereinbaren strategische Zusammenarbeit zur Förderung von Life-Sciences-Ausgründungen
Die BioM Biotech Cluster Development GmbH und die Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) München haben eine Absichtserklärung zur engeren Zusammenarbeit unterzeichnet. Die bayerische Biotech-Clusterorganisation BioM Biotech Cluster Development GmbH (BioM), die City of Kawasaki, Japan, und das Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion (KIIP) haben heute in München ein erweitertes Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) unterzeichnet. The Bavarian biotech cluster organization BioM Biotech Cluster Development GmbH (BioM), the City of Kawasaki, Japan, and the Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion (KIIP) re-signed an expanded memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Munich today. The aim of the cooperation agreement is to promote economic exchange in the fields of health, biotechnology, and life sciences, as well as to intensify industry-industry and industry-academia cooperation between Kawasaki and the Bavarian biotechnology network.
