Rheinmetall and ICEYE cooperate to provide Ukraine with satellite imagery on behalf of the German government
The strengthened cooperation between Rheinmetall and SAR satellite company ICEYE, announced in September 2024, is already bearing fruit. To meet Ukraine‘s urgent demands for SAR satellite reconnaissance capabilities, Rheinmetall and Ukraine, supported by the German government, signed a contract. The agreement further increases the SAR data and other support Ukraine has been receiving from ICEYE during the war. Since early October 2024, Ukraine receives new satellite images taken by ICEYE’s SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellites, under the collaboration between Rheinmetall and ICEYE. Around 200 combat vehicles for Ukraine
Rheinmetall has handed over 20 additional Marder infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) to the Ukrainian armed forces for their defence against the Russian aggressor. The delivery was completed at the end of the third quarter of 2024. This brings the total number of combat vehicles delivered directly to Ukraine or in the context of so-called ring exchanges (Ring-tausch) to around 200. A three-digit number of these systems are Marder 1A3 infantry fighting vehicles. Rheinmetall hat den Streitkräften der Ukraine 20 weitere Marder-Schützenpanzer für ihren Abwehrkampf gegen den russischen Aggressor übergeben. Die Auslieferung ist zum Ende des dritten Quartals 2024 erfolgt. Damit steigt die Gesamtzahl der direkt oder indirekt – im Wege des sogenannten Ringtauschs – an die Ukraine gelieferten Gefechtsfahrzeuge auf rund 200. Rheinmetall receives major order for 81mm Eimos mortar systems for the Spanish Armed Forces
The Spanish government has contracted with Rheinmetall to supply 84 81mm Eimos mortar systems. Worth around €150 million, the framework agreement was signed with Rheinmetall subsidiary Rheinmetall Expal Munitions. It also includes maintenance and training components. The systems are to be delivered to the Spanish Armed Forces between the end of 2024 and the end of 2027. The order will be booked at the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2024. The order underscores Rheinmetall’s reliability as a partner of the Spanish Army in the supply of key products.
