Fördergelder für digitale Vernetzung: Bundesminister Robert Habeck übergibt Förderbescheid an Rheinmetall
Die Rheinmetall-Tochterfirma YardStick Robotics, die KI-gesteuerte Roboter für extreme Einsatzumgebungen entwickelt, und die Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH wurden mit einem Förderbescheid für das Forschungsprojekt „RoX“ ausgezeichnet. „RoX“ ist ein durch das Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz (BMWK) gefördertes Forschungsprojekt mit einem Gesamtvolumen von 52 MioEUR. Das anteilige Projektvolumen für die Rheinmetall-Gesellschaften beläuft sich auf 3,5 MioEUR; die Förderung durch das BMWK für die Rheinmetall-Tochtergesellschaften liegt bei insgesamt 1,4 MioEUR. Rheinmetall subsidiary YardStick Robotics, which develops AI-controlled robots for extreme operational environments, and Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH were awarded a supportive funding notification for the “RoX” research project for a total of €1.4 million. American Rheinmetall Vehicles, Sterling Heights, MI, has won one of two contracts awarded in the U.S. Army’s Small Multi-Purpose Equipment Transport vehicle (S-MET) program. Rheinmetall has successfully completed the development of the latest generation of its enhanced armour-piercing 120mm KE-ammunition to counter state-of-the-art protection technologies. The qualification readiness of the KE2020Neo or eKE (enhanced Kinetic Energy) ammunition has also been proven. As a result, Rheinmetall has been commissioned by the Bundeswehr and the British Army to manufacture qualification samples of the new ammunition.
