Erhöhte Kapazitäten für Munitionsfertigung: Munitionswerk Várpalota wächst weiter auf
Die Munitionsfabrik in Várpalota, welche derzeit durch die ungarische N7 Holding für das Gemeinschaftsunternehmen Rheinmetall Hungary Munitions Zrt. errichtet wird, wächst wie geplant weiter auf. So werden dort weitere Kapazitäten geschaffen, um neben Mittelkalibermunition auch Großkalibermunition zu fertigen. Der Baubeginn für diese zweite Phase startete im Januar 2024. Die Konzepte für den mehrstufigen Ausbau des Werkes waren bereits vor dem Februar 2022 – also noch vor Beginn des russischen Krieges gegen die Ukraine – entstanden. Ammunition production capacity increasing: Várpalota ammo plant continues to grow
The new Rheinmetall ammunition plant in Várpalota, Hungary, currently being built by the Hungarian holding company N7 on behalf of the joint venture company Rheinmetall Hungary Munitions Zrt., is now poised to expand as planned. The second phase of construction started in January 2024. The concept for a multi-phase expansion of the plant existed prior to February 2022 and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The project constitutes a strategic Hungarian investment in cooperation with Rheinmetall in response to the shortfall in ammunition already apparent at the time given the anticipated increase in demand in Europe and NATO. Major order for Rheinmetall – international partner orders additional kits for Fuchs 2 production
An international partner has awarded Rheinmetall an order to supply Fuchs 2 components for producing the wheeled armoured vehicle at a factory in the partner country. The current follow up orders also include kits for conversion and the supply of spare part packages. Booked in December 2023, the order is worth a figure in the three-digit million-euro range. Delivery of the kits — both for production and conversion — starts this year and will be complete in 2028. Großauftrag für Rheinmetall – Internationaler Partner ordert weitere Kits zur Fuchs 2-Fertigung
Rheinmetall hat von einem internationalen Partner den Auftrag erhalten, Bausätze für gepanzerte Fahrzeuge des Typs Fuchs 2 zu liefern. Die Fertigung soll im Partnerland erfolgen. Die aktuellen Folgeaufträge beinhalten auch Kits zur Umrüstung sowie die Lieferung von Ersatzteilpaketen. Das Volumen des Auftrags liegt im dreistelligen MioEUR-Bereich. Er wurde im Dezember 2023 eingebucht. Die Kits und Umrüstkits werden zwischen 2024 und 2028 ausgeliefert. Die Fertigungsstätte im Partnerland konnte in den vergangenen Jahren einen Wertschöpfungszuwachs sowie Investitionen zur Gewährleistung von Bearbeitungs-, Schweiß- und Oberflächenbehandlungsschritten verzeichnen. Die strategische und langjährige Partnerschaft tritt damit in eine neue, erfolgversprechende Phase ein, die auch die Möglichkeit eines künftigen Exports von Fuchs 2-Fahrzeugen aus dem Partnerland beinhaltet.…

Startschuss für das hochmoderne Luftverteidigungssystem
Das Bundesamt für Ausrüstung, Informationstechnik und Nutzung der Bundeswehr (BAAINBw) und die Arbeitsgemeinschaft Nah- und Nächstbereichsschutz (ARGE NNbS) haben heute, am 25. Januar 2024, den Entwicklungsvertrag für das Luftverteidigungssystem Nah- und Nächstbereichsschutz (LVS NNbS) unterzeichnet. Der 2021 gegründeten ARGE NNbS gehören die Unternehmen Rheinmetall Electronics GmbH (Bremen), Diehl Defence GmbH & Co. KG (Überlingen) und Hensoldt Sensors GmbH (Taufkirchen) an. Der Auftrag hat ein Volumen von rund 1,2 MrdEUR brutto, das sich auf die Partnerunternehmen nach ihren Leistungsanteilen wie folgt aufschlüsselt: Rheinmetall 607 MioEUR, Diehl 339 MioEUR und Hensoldt 284 MioEUR. Starting gun sounds for Germany’s advanced short- and very short-range air defence system – development contract awarded
Germany’s military procurement agency, the Federal Office for Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw), signed a development contract today with the Short- and Very Short-Range Air Defence System Consortium (ARGE NNbS) for the “Air Defence System, Short- and Very Short-Range”, or LVS NNbS. Set up in 2021, ARGE NNbS has three member companies: Rheinmetall Electronics GmbH of Bremen, Diehl Defence GmbH & Co. KG of Überlingen, and Hensoldt Sensors GmbH of Taufkirchen. Apprenticeship and Graduate Opportunities Last year, we launched our graduate scheme, taking on three graduates in September 2023 from different universities across the UK. Mechanised Infantry Vehicle Boxer UK Update

Vehicle trials From January 2024, the Mechanised Infantry Vehicle (MIV) programme has moved into the start of formal customer Verification and Validation trials taking place at Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedford UK. These trials will qualify the design against the MIV technical requirements, demonstrating the Boxer vehicle’s capability and performance for the British Army. There are two Rheinmetall prototype vehicles in the Command variant that will conduct the trials, as part of the Army’s modernisation plan. Bundeswehr procuring medium-calibre ammunition for Puma infantry fighting vehicle; order worth a triple-digit million-euro figure The German Bundeswehr has contracted with Rheinmetall to produce and supply medium-calibre ammunition for the Puma infantry fighting vehicle. A call-off from an existing framework agreement, the order encompasses several hundred thousand rounds of 30mm x 173 DM21 service ammunition. The order is worth over €350 million, including value added tax. Once perfect functionality has been demonstrated, delivery will begin this year and continue through to 2027.
