Survivor R wird neuer „Sonderwagen 5“: Rheinmetall stattet die Bundespolizei und die Bereitschaftspolizeien der Länder mit neuem Einsatzfahrzeug aus
Rheinmetall hat einen bedeutenden Auftrag im Bereich des strategischen Schlüsselmarktes Innere Sicherheit erhalten. Das Beschaffungsamt des BMI hat dem Düsseldorfer Technologiekonzern den Zuschlag über die Lieferung des neuen geländegängigen, geschützten Mehrzweckfahrzeugs des Typs Survivor R als neuem „Sonderwagen 5“ erteilt. Der Auftrag umfasst eine feste Liefermenge von 55 Fahrzeugen in den Varianten für die Bundespolizei sowie auch für die Bereitschaftspolizeien der Länder. Der Vertrag umfasst ein hohes zweistelliges MioEUR-Volumen, wobei sich das gesamte Auftragsvolumen durch vereinbarte Optionen für weitere Fahrzeuge noch in den dreistelligen MioEUR-Bereich erhöhen kann. Rheinmetall has won a significant order in the key strategic market for internal security systems. The procurement agency of Germany’s Federal Interior Ministry has contracted with the Düsseldorf-based technology group to supply a fleet of new all-terrain, protected multipurpose Survivor R special response vehicles, to be known as the “Sonderwagen 5”. As part of its electrification strategy, the Düsseldorf-based tech enterprise Rheinmetall is setting up a joint venture with the US start-up PolyCharge America, Inc. to produce, develop and market DC-link capacitors. Underlying this move is the Group’s goal of gaining a stronger foothold in the rapidly growing markets for electromobility and industrial applications as well as accessing subsystems and components necessary for making innovative products in future.
