SMS group has been chosen by Jindal Stainless Limited to build a new blast furnace at their Kalinganagar unit in India. The blast furnace will have a production capacity of two million tons of hot metal per year. The plant will serve both existing downstream steelmaking facilities, as well as future ones. The contract for the equipment, to be designated Blast Furnace Number 1, was signed between SMS group company Paul Wurth and Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) in November 2021. Jindal Stainless hat SMS group mit dem Bau eines neuen Hochofens am Standort Kalinganagar in Indien beauftragt. Nucor Steel hat SMS group, Inc. mit der Lieferung der kompletten Stahlwerksausrüstung für den neu zu errichtenden Produktionskomplex in Mason County, West Virginia, USA, beauftragt. Der Lieferumfang umfasst zwei Gleichstrom-Elektrolichtbogenöfen (DC EAF) mit einer Kapazität von jeweils 190 Tonnen, zwei Doppelpfannenöfen sowie zwei Entgasungsanlagen mit Vakuumbehälter-Transportwagen. Zum Lieferumfang Mechanik gehören neben diversen sicherheitstechnischen Nebenanlagen insbesondere das von SMS entwickelte Bodenanodensystem, zwei mechanische Vakuumpumpensysteme sowie ein maßgeschneidertes Anlagenlayout, das die Anzahl der erforderlichen Kranbewegungen minimiert. The scope includes two 190 metric ton direct current electric arc furnaces (DC EAF), two twin ladle furnaces, and two vacuum tank car degasser facilities.
