Gold trading volumes continue to rise
Gold trading volumes have increased globally for three consecutive months. In November, this amounted to an average of $290 billion. Despite a decline in the gold price, this still represents an 8% increase compared to October. The main drivers were the futures trading volumes on the COMEX and the Shanghai Futures Exchange. Additionally, global gold ETF volumes rose significantly. North America led the growth, while global OTC gold trading (over-the-counter trading) saw a decline compared to the previous month. The weak gold price may have negatively impacted gold futures trading. Overall, however, global gold ETF inflows have remained positive in 2024. Weltweit sind die Goldhandelsvolumina drei Monate in Folge nach oben gegangen. Im November ergab dies durchschnittlich 290 Milliarden US-Dollar. Nachdem der Goldpreis gefallen war, ergibt dies trotzdem einen Anstieg von acht Prozent gegenüber dem Oktober. Ursächlich wirkten dabei vor allem einerseits die Futures-Handelsvolumina an der Comex und auch an der Shanghai Futures Exchange. Andererseits stiegen auch die weltweiten Gold-ETF-Volumina markant an. Das Wachstum generierte dabei auf Platz Eins Nordamerika.
