In the third quarter of 2024, almost 350,000 new electric cars were registered in the USA. This is eleven percent more than in the same period of the previous year. At the end of 2023, there were almost 42 million electric vehicles (passenger cars) on the road worldwide. Most of them in China, followed by the USA and Germany. Norway accounts for the largest share of newly registered e-vehicles. A full 90.2 percent of new registrations there were electric cars in the first quarter of 2024.
