Heute steigt zwar das Nickelangebot aus China und besonders aus Indonesien, jedoch sind die Nickelbestände in den Lagerhäusern auf einem niedrigen Niveau verblieben. Aus dem Hauptproduktionsland Indonesien werden dieses Jahr rund 40 Prozent der weltweiten Primärproduktion kommen. Aktuell ist der Nickelpreis eher schwach.
