Gold is approaching its all-time high. Bond yields are weak. It will probably only be a matter of time before a new record price for gold delights investors. The Fed will probably pause its interest rate hikes. Because then it can assess what the effects of the last rate hikes are on the economy. Inflation is still high, there are recession fears as well as risks regarding financial stability. In addition, there is the debt ceiling on U.S. debt, which is once again causing concern and also does not argue for further Fed rate hikes. Safe investments like gold are in demand.
