According to the Canadian Press, gold goods worth more than $20 million were stolen from Toronto Pearson Airport. An airplane, from where it came, was not told, had brought a container with the valuable content. The container was taken to a cargo hold, then it was illegally removed. Gold and other items of high value are now missing. Of course, those in charge at the airport pleaded that this was a special isolated case and that there were no other concerns about travel or public safety. Indians love not only gold but also silver
For the fifth year in a row, net investments in physical silver increased and reached a new high. Net investments in physical silver reached almost 333 million ounces in 2022. Silver prices were rather low, so Indians in particular went on silver buying sprees, namely with an increase of 188 percent compared to the previous year. Silver investments also went up in the USA, although not as extremely as in India. Australians increased their physical investments by around 15 percent. Knapp 333 Millionen Unzen Silber erreichten in 2022 die Nettoinvestitionen in physisches Silber. Die Silberpreise waren eher niedrig und so gingen vor allem Inder auf Silber-Einkaufstouren, dies nämlich mit einem Anstieg von 188 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vorjahr. Auch in den USA gingen die Silberinvestitionen nach oben, wenn auch nicht so extrem wie in Indien. Die Australier vergrößerten ihre physischen Investitionen um rund 15 Prozent.
