Größere Weltbevölkerung – mehr Rohstoffe notwendig
Aktuell soll sich die Weltbevölkerung auf rund 8,2 Milliarden Menschen belaufen. In den 2080er Jahren soll die Zehn-Milliarden-Grenze überschritten werden. Nun geht eine neue Studie von Nature Communications davon aus, dass die Landbevölkerung zwischen 1975 und 2010 deutlich unterschätzt wurde, nämlich um 53 bis 84 Prozent. Es sei schwierig, die ländliche Bevölkerung genau zu erfassen. Dies gelte vor allem für abgelegene oder konfliktbetroffene Gebiete. Die Studie legt Beweise für eine Untererfassung vor, die sich besonders auf China, Brasilien, Polen, Australien und Kolumbien erstreckt. The world’s population is currently expected to be around 8.2 billion people. The ten billion mark is expected to be exceeded in the 2080s. A new study by Nature Communications now assumes that the rural population was significantly underestimated between 1975 and 2010, namely by 53 to 84 percent. It is difficult to accurately measure the rural population. This is particularly true for remote or conflict-affected areas. The study provides evidence of underreporting, particularly in China, Brazil, Poland, Australia and Colombia. In Paraguay alone, around a quarter of people were not recorded in the 2012 census.
