Beim Silberbergbau kommen mehr als 70 Prozent des Silbers aus dem Abbau von Nebenprodukten, etwa bei Blei, Zink und Kupfer. Fehlt der Subventionseffekt für die Nebenproduktmetalle, so fällt auch das Silberangebot geringer aus. Zusätzlich fehlen oft Arbeitskräfte. Dies führte zu einem Rückgang der globalen Silberreserven. Silver demand is recovering, but developing new mines is expensive and lengthy. Silver plays a role in industry, jewelry and physical investments. In silver mining, more than 70 percent of the silver comes from mining by-products, such as lead, zinc and copper. If the subsidy effect for the by-product metals is missing, the silver supply is also lower. In addition, there is often a shortage of labor. This has led to a decline in global silver reserves. Last year, reserves fell by around four percent. There was little activity in new discoveries and exploration.
