Many things are possible with silver

Silver can help in the growth of fruit and can strengthen the immune system of plants.

Silver is not only the most efficient and cost-effective electrical and thermal conductor but can do much more. Crops are often threatened by drought. It is necessary to strengthen the resistance to fungi, insects and diseases. Trials with silver have shown that this is possible. Studies have already shown that silver nanoparticles have a positive effect on plants. Growth, for example, is promoted, researchers from China and the Middle East found. When pomegranate trees were sprayed with silver, fruit yield improved. Spraying strawberries also significantly extended their shelf life. Silver can thus achieve positive results in food processing.

An important area of application for the precious metal is the solar industry. Here, the demand for silver is growing steadily. Around eight percent of global silver production goes to this sector. About 20 grams of silver are processed for a solar module of two square meters. The silver is incorporated into the solar modules in various ways. The most important is a silver paste produced by screen printing. It becomes the silver lines that can be seen on the photovoltaic cells. Various technologies are being studied to recycle the silver from solar cells. The precious metal is, after all, a valuable commodity whose waste is to be avoided. If you look at the material value of solar modules, silver makes up about 14 percent. So many things are possible with silver, and investors can add gold’s little brother to their portfolios in the form of shares.
