Climate neutrality needs nuclear power, so uranium is needed

The share of nuclear energy in the energy mix could increase not only worldwide, but also in the EU.

Around 25 percent of electricity in the EU is generated by nuclear power plants. Renewable energies alone will not be enough to ensure a secure and reliable power supply. The camps in the EU are divided. Some are returning to nuclear energy, others are planning to phase it out and still others want to expand nuclear power. Poland, for example, is planning to go nuclear. Spain, for example, has been faced with the question of whether to extend operating times since the major power blackout recently. The original plan was to phase out nuclear energy by 2035.

However, energy autonomy and security of supply are important issues. This is why Sweden has changed its mind and now wants to build new reactors instead of phasing out nuclear power by 2023. Belgium is now also focusing on new builds. Italy and Denmark are considering a return to nuclear power. The United Kingdom is building and planning new plants. It is therefore not surprising that demand for uranium has been on the rise for several years. And it is energy-hungry countries such as China and India that are relying heavily on nuclear energy.

The USA generates the most nuclear power and US President Trump is even planning to quadruple this over the next 25 years. Nuclear power plants currently account for around 20 percent of the electricity generated in the USA. Several decrees are intended to speed up approvals, facilitate loans and support research. More of the necessary uranium is to be produced in the USA. Uranium is therefore a sought-after raw material, which should please companies such as Uranium Energy and Premier American Uranium.

Uranium Energyhttps://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/uranium-energy-corp/ – is the largest licensed uranium producer in the USA and is debt-free. In addition to the ISR uranium projects in the USA, the company has other high-grade projects in Canada.

Premier American Uraniumhttps://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/premier-american-uranium-inc/ – has prospective uranium projects in excellent uranium regions such as Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico.
