Erstmals stellte Rheinmetall seine neue Squad Support Weapon 40 im scharfen Schuss vor. Mitte Juni 2025 hatten Vertreter diverser Defence-Medien im Rahmen eines Fachpresse-Events die Möglichkeit, Prototypen des ersten automatischen magazingeladenen schultergeschossenen Granatwerfers für die neue 40mm x 46 Medium Velocity-Munition eigenhändig zu erleben. Die SSW40 soll insbesondere der Infanteriegruppe zu höherer Feuerkraft verhelfen, indem sie ihr eine vielseitig einsetzbare und dabei handliche Waffe zur Verfügung stellt. Der Schütze kann sie ähnlich wie ein Sturmgewehr führen und bedienen und bis auf 900 Meter wirken. Rheinmetall unveiled its new Squad Support Weapon 40 in live firing for the first time. During a trade press event, representatives from various defence media had the opportunity to experience prototypes of the first automatic magazinefed shoulder-fired grenade launcher for the new 40 mm x 46 medium velocity ammunition. The SSW40 is designed to bolster the infantry with greater firepower by providing a versatile and at the same time, with a compact weapon. The soldier can handle and operate the weapon in similar fashion to an assault rifle with an operational firing range of up to 900 metres. Rheinmetall wins major order for artillery ammunition – order value in the hundreds of millions of euros
A European NATO country has signed a multi-year contract with Rheinmetall’s subsidiary Rheinmetall Denel Munition (RF) Pty Ltd (RDM) in South Africa for the delivery of 155 mm projectiles from the Assegai family and bimodular propelling charges. The order was booked in the second quarter of 2025 and is worth several hundred million euros. Deliveries will begin in 2025 and conclude with final delivery in 2027. The order is the largest in the history of Rheinmetall Denel Munition. The Rheinmetall Assegai 155mm projectiles and bi-modular propelling charges will be integrated into the customer’s artillery weapon systems, delivering range capability of more than 40,000m with optimal performance in the target area.…

Das niederländische Verteidigungsministerium hat im Auftrag der Ukraine Task Force mit der in Ede ansässigen Tochtergesellschaft Rheinmetall Defence Nederland B.V. einen Vertrag über die Lieferung von 20 Fahrzeugen der Kleinfahrzeugfamilie Ermine (dt.: „Hermelin“) unterzeichnet. Der niederländische Verteidigungsminister Ruben Brekelmans unterzeichnete den Vertrag Rheinmetall am 24. Juni 2025 im Rahmen des NATO-Industriegipfels in Den Haag. Bei den bestellten Varianten handelt es sich um bemannte und unbemannte Bodenfahrzeuge. Diese sollen an die ukrainischen Streitkräfte geliefert werden, um ihre Fähigkeit zur Evakuierung von Verwundeten in Frontnähe zu stärken. First success for Rheinmetall Ermine – Dutch Ministry of Defence orders 20 Manned/Unmanned Ground Vehicles for Ukraine
The Dutch Ministry of Defence has, on behalf of the Ukraine Task Force, signed a contract with the Ede-based subsidiary Rheinmetall Defence Nederland B.V. to supply 20 Ermine vehicles. The Minister of Defence signed the contract with Rheinmetall on the 24th of June during the NATO Industry Summit in The Hague. The variants now ordered are manned/unmanned ground vehicles. These are to be delivered to the Ukrainian armed forces, strengthening their capability for casualty evacuation near the frontline. The vehicles are to be delivered in 2026.
